About Olga Uvarova

My name is Olga, and I create one-of-a-kind ball-jointed collectible dolls entirely by hand.
My journey into this art began long before the dolls themselves. I am a professional artist with a classical fine art education. For many years I expressed character, emotion, and mood through painting and graphic art, participating in solo exhibitions.
Over time, I felt the need to move beyond the flat canvas and work with form, volume, and deeper presence. This led me to the world of dolls.
I studied this craft patiently and thoroughly — through constant practice, mistakes, and endless experiments with materials and techniques. Eventually, I found my true voice: creating delicate girl figures — small, alive, with subtle character and soulful expressions.
Today, every doll is the result of this long artistic path.
I sculpt each one from premium Flumo cold porcelain, entirely by hand — from the smallest detail to the final assembly. Each doll has 18 movable joints that allow her to take natural, lifelike poses. Her hair is made from natural goat wool, her eyes are hand-painted glass, and her clothing is designed and embroidered by me with the greatest care.
But the technical side is only part of the story.
What matters most is the image — the face, the gaze, the almost imperceptible expression that makes the doll feel truly alive.
My dolls are never repeated. Each is strictly one of a kind.
They have been exhibited at international shows in the Czech Republic, Spain, Russia, and Latvia. These exhibitions are very important to me, because it is there that my dolls enter the wider world of authorial art and find their forever homes with collectors.
Today, my dolls live in private collections across many countries.
And for me, this is the greatest confirmation that I have found my true calling.
